In the news lately is the case in Connecticut where the State Supreme Court has decided to hoist its middle digit in defiance of the federal law that protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when crimes have been committed with their products. This law is known as the PLCAA or Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (enacted in 2005). See HERE.
The PLCAA was Congress’ reaction to tyrannical, anti-freedom liberal Democrats that decided since they could not get in congress the complete disarmament of their fascist, totalitarian dreams they would essentially promote – support – encourage the harassment of firearms manufacturers and dealers with dubious law suits until it cost them so much, win or lose, that they would be forced to shut down. Despite the outright lies told by many of the Democrat presidential hopefuls, Hillary being the most egregious among them, the law does not, nor did it ever, grant immunity from liability for defective products or for a manufacturer that is illegally producing or selling firearms.
We are standing Coffin on its head.
You hear people all the time say, “You’re innocent until proven guilty! It’s in the Constitution!”
They are partly correct. You are (supposed to be) innocent until proven guilty but the phrase “innocent until proven guilty” is NOT in the U.S. Constitution. This legal precedent was not established until 1895 in the case of Coffin v. United States.
However, these days we seem more and more hell-bent on throwing the niceties of legal precedents out the window in favor of the emotionally satisfying mob rule. See the Kavanaugh hearings in the U. S. Senate.
Red Flag laws are one such case and are a danger to freedom and due process but hey, since we’re hysterical about the decreasing gun violence in America why stop with just firearms?
Recently Senator Elizabeth Warren announced her new tax plan she would like to institute should we ever have the extreme misfortune of her occupying the Oval Office.
Her plan would call for a tax of 2% on wealth in excess of $50 million and a tax of 3% on wealth in excess of $1 billion.
It should be noted here that this is very different from income taxes. This is a tax on what you already have, not what you earn in any given year. This means that if one did nothing other than simply exist that one’s wealth would diminish over time eaten away by the government’s voracious appetite. By virtue of one simply having wealth and by a lack of virtue in the government, led by the covetous Lizzy Warren and her thieving cohorts, the fruits of one’s labors would waft away over time like the smoke from her teepee.
The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl yesterday.
I live in New England, in fact I live within earshot of Gillette Stadium.
I am a Patriots fan and enjoy watching the games during the season.
I too cheered all the big plays and when they won the game.
It is a pleasant distraction, a regalement.
But, I could do with a little perspective, please.
Imagine you’re a gun owner and you move to New York (and also try to imagine even a single reason why you would do that) and you walk into the town hall in your new town to apply for your New York State firearms license mistakenly thinking that the Bill of Rights is still the law of the land.
Congressman Swalwell is a Blood-Thirsty Totalitarian
Scratch a virtue signaling lefty and you’ll find a snarling, blood-thirsty totalitarian tyrant just beneath the surface.
They always start out trying to sound reasonable but when their ambitions are stymied you will see the militant side come out sooner rather than later. They want their way and dammit! they’re going to get it no matter who or what stands in their way.
Socialism doesn’t work.
It always starts out using the power of persuasion to promise utopia but when it fails, as it must due to the foibles of human nature, the powers that be, those true believers whose faith in socialism can never be shaken, realizing that starving people have very little to lose, send forth the capitalist funded, capitalist supplied troops to use the persuasion of power to force the non-compliant peons to continue to play by their defective rules against their collective wills.
What if you went into the town hall to register to vote and got a similar run-around as people in Massachusetts get when applying for a license to carry a firearm?
I was watching “The Fox News Specialists” show just now and the subject turned to the North Korean problem.
The regular panel this night was Ebony Williams, Kat Timpf and Lisa Booth filling in for Eric Bolling. The two “specialists” were Col. David Hunt (who twice voted for Barack Obama, ‘nuf said) and Krystal Ball whose parents apparently had a droll sense of humor.
I follow gun control issues very carefully and read quite a bit about this subject on the web including many comments to many articles. There is quite a bit written about so-called “assault rifles” lately due to several high profile atrocities that have occurred.
There is also a recurring theme that seems to be, “Why does anyone need these things? We need to ban them now!”
